THE DANCE INSTITUTE OF WASHINGTON CLASSES ARE NO LONGER OFFERED
Classes at the Dance Institute of Washington 3400 14th Street, NW DC on the Green Line Metro Station Columbia Heights- street parking avaliable.
Tuesdays
Hip Hop with LaTasha Barnes - 7pm - no longer offered
House Dance with Junious "House" Brickhouse - 8pm- no longer offered
Thursdays
Breakin with Russell "Ironman" & Gabe aka "Shamrock" - 7pm - no longer offered
Popping with Rashaad Pearson & Ryan "Future" Webb - 8pm - no longer offered
All classes are drop in and only cost $10 each. All ages and levels are welcome to join us, no experience necessary to attend. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

A special thanks to www.dancemetrodc.org for inviting us to join them as a guest at the ACDFA Conference here in DC last week. Founder/Executive Director Junious Brickhouse was accompanied by Scott Rink of DanceRink another MSAC award winner for Dance Solo in 2010, along with Dance/USA and Dance Metro DC Staff for a panel discussion on working in the professional dance community as a Director and as a Performer.
Later thank night Urban Artistry joined the young dancers at an after-showcase party at The infamous Watergate 660 Restaurant across from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to dance to the sounds of Urban Artistry's DJ Baronhawk Poitier.
Peter DiMuro, Toyin Sogunro, Ryan Webb, Emily Wessel, Phillip Chang and Junious Brickhouse all came out to perform solos and get down with the visting dancers from all over the country.

Instructors: Rashaad Pearson and Ryan "Future" Webb (Assassins Crew)
The Dance Institute of Washington 3400 14th Street, NW Washington DC.
Born and raised in New York City, Rashaad Pearson grew up watching many urban dance forms and listened to a variety of music. When he moved to the Washington D.C. Metro area in 2003, he took dance more seriously and met people who taught him foundation at The D.C./Baltimore Pop Shop. Rashaad’s styles of dance are Popping, House, Hip Hop, Locking, and Waacking. Rashaad has competed in and won various dance competitions around the country, such as Unity & Respect in Boston (2006), Step Ya Game Up in NYC (2007), and All the Way Live in the San Francisco Bay Area (2008). He was also a battle guest at 4 Da Next Level 2 in Busan, Korea (2008). Rashaad currently dances with The Assassins Crew and is the Artistic Director for Popping in Urban Artistry Dance Company.
